SONGS IN THE NIGHT FROM JESUS
SONGS IN THE NIGHT FROM JESUS
( by Wayne O’Conner)

Lately several people have asked me if I have received any new songs in dreams or mentioned that they found an audio of a song or book blurb on Youtube. I never learned to play a musical instrument and cannot read music.
However, despite that fact, about thirty years ago or so, I started having dreams where I heard a Christian song and then woke up an wrote the words down. They are not the kind of songs that you take to Nashville and make into a popular song. While my songs are often requested at Christian gatherings, I have a neighbor who has played country or Christian music for over sixty years- he doesn’t consider them songs. The tunes may be catchy but they are more akin to those sang by Old World bards. They are ballads with a Christian message. Many of them have vanished on Youtube and finding them in my blog is like looking for a proverbial needle in a haystack. I have dreamed a song about once a year for about thirty years. There are too many to put them all in this blog. Except for the song “Barbecue for Jesus,” the first several song links listed below, are from Songs in the Night From Jesus, albums six and seven. Only “Barbecue for Jesus” is listed in the book pictured below.

Waysides Along the Journey #3
A book of lyrics of my earliest songs, with back stories, was at one time available at Amazon. Several years ago, as of February 2026, Amazon informed me that they had received a letter from a person, who they would not identify, informing them that I was not the real author of any of my books or songs. My books and a’ capella albums are no longer available. If you do a search for my books at Amazon you may find a few listed but with a note that says “out of print” or “unavailable.”

Diane and Shirley Knorn, sisters, (above) worked for me, shipping A Grain of Wheat books around the World, for David Dyer,
a retired missionary. This song (a shortened version) is also used in my Christian Fantasy novel, Carnival World Book One,
and sung at the funeral of Keegan the Barbarian, a friend of the main character, Orlando Bard.
