Free Camel Rides and Tea

 

(Free Verse Prose Poetry)

 

Ken and Sharon Welker

Are friends of mine.

They are also adventurers.

 

In May of this year

They boarded

A flight to Jerusalem.

 

They did not book a tour.

One morning

They felt led

Following prayer

To take a walk.

 

Spotting a tent in the distance

They decided to investigate.

 

One of the things

Ken and Sharon discovered

About Jerusalem

Is that all roads lead uphill!

 

Coming at last

To their destination

Ken and Sharon found camels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Walking closer

They found

Another camel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The camel was saddled

And ready to ride,

Hitched to a sign that read

“Police” in English and Hebrew!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nearby was a long

Black and white striped tent

That rested on

A wooden platform.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Curious,

Ken and Sharon

Strolled inside.

 

What did they find

Inside the tent?

Tables!

 

To their surprise

They were offered

Free tea

And a camel ride!

 

When they asked, “Why?”

Ken and Sharon were told

That previously

The valley had become

A hot spot for crime.

 

Police had commissioned a tent

That offered

“Free camel rides and tea.”

 

Finding their secret location

Now a public place,

The criminal element

Vanished overnight!

 

Ken and Sharon passed

On the free camel ride,

But contemplatively

Sipped their tea.

 

The tea

According to Sharon

Was way too sweet,

So, she drank very little.

 

Ken chatted with the

Garrulous proprietors

Of Free Tea

And Camel Ride Park

About contemporary

And ancient

Local history

Until the time had come

To say good bye.

Promenades à dos de chameau et thé gratuits

 

Ken et Sharon Welker

Are amis de la mienne.

Ils sont aussi des aventuriers.

 

En mai de cette année

Ils ont embarqué

Un vol pour Jérusalem.

 

Ils n’ont pas réserver une visite.

Un matin

Ils se sentaient conduit

Suite à la prière

De faire une promenade.

 

Repérer une tente au loin

Ils ont décidé d’enquêter.

 

Une des choses

Ken et Sharon ont découvert

À propos de Jérusalem

C’est que toutes les routes mènent en montée!

 

Venir enfin

À leur destination

Ken et Sharon ont trouvé des chameaux.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Marcher plus près

Ils ont trouvé

Un autre chameau.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Le chameau a été sellé

Et prêt à rouler,

Accroché à un signe qui lisent

“police” en anglais et en Hébreu!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

À proximité était Un Long

Tente rayée noire et blanche

Qui reposait sur

A plate-forme en bois.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Curieux,

Ken et Sharon

Flâné Intérieur.

 

Qu’ont-ils trouvé

À l’intérieur de la tente?

Tables!

 

À leur surprise

Ils ont été offerts

Thé gratuit

Et un tour de chameau!

 

Quand ils ont demandé, “pourquoi?”

Ken et Sharon se sont fait dire

Que précédemment

La vallée était devenue

Un endroit chaud pour le crime.

 

La police avait commandé une tente

Qui a offert

“Free Camel rides et le thé.”

 

Trouver leur emplacement secret

Maintenant un lieu public,

L’élément criminel

Disparue du jour au lendemain!

 

Ken et Sharon sont passés

Sur le trajet en chameau gratuit,

Mais contemplativement

Siroté leur thé.

 

Le thé

Selon Sharon

Était beaucoup trop sucré,

Donc, elle buvait très peu.

 

Ken a bavardé avec le

Bavard propriétaires

De thé gratuit

Et Camel Ride Park

Sur Contemporain

Et antique

Lhistoire OCAL

Jusqu’à ce que le temps était venu

Pour dire adieu.
