THE GREAT AND PRECIOUS LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST

Based on a song in a dream on the morning of 11/29/2015. I had been in a great deal of pain and had not slept much when I had the dream.  I was in a fellowship meeting in a house.  Surprisingly Lou Comunale, a Christian brother from out east whom I met during the 2014 Quarterman Conference in Chattanooga, was visiting the fellowship.  I had been asked to pray and not long into the prayer the prayer started feeling like it should be a song.  For a while dialogue came out but it had the feel of prose or poetry.  There was one section that was song.  When trying to put the song together I had much more difficulty than usual, and after having two friends, Carrie and Kathy Lewan, listen to what I had so far, both independently said that they thought the words were great but the melody was off.  After thinking about that I came to the conclusion that only the chorus was supposed to be song and the rest free-verse prose. Before I share the prose and song I will list a few scriptures that came to mind as I worked on recording the material.

(Eph 1:3)  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

(Eph 1:4)  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

(Eph 1:5)  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

(Eph 1:6)  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

(Jer 1:5)  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee…

(Heb 7:22)  By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

(Heb 7:23)  And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

(Heb 7:24)  But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

(Heb 7:25)  Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

CAN WE TRULY FATHOM

THE GREAT AND PRECIOUS LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST?

Song:

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us   millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

Prose:

Can we truly fathom the great and precious love of Jesus Christ?

He died once for all for each and every one us.

For all who are redeemed and written in His book,

Jesus paid the price for those who will repent

and call upon His name.

Did you ever stop to think and come to realize

That His love does not stop there?

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us   millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

Jesus knew each and every one of us

long before we were ever formed

inside our mother’s womb.

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us   millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

He’s prayed a million prayers for us

before our tiny feet

danced with little baby steps

across the family floor.

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us  millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

Jesus gives us  shelter, fellowship and daily bread.

and watches over us with fair and caring hands.

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us   millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

Jesus ever stands before the Father interceding on our behalf.

He communes with our angelic guardians.

They laugh together with great joy when sharing praise reports.

Jesus weeps when the watchers share our grief and persecution

And yet they know that such ordeals

help us grow strong or lead to martyr’s crowns.

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us  millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.

Jesus is our bold advocate

when the ancient enemy of our souls

Accuses us night and day before the throne.

Jesus cries, “Hear me Father, I have paid the price.

My blood covers them.”

Jesus love is so wide and deep

that it could fill the rivers, lakes and seas.

Jesus love is so vast and full that it could even fill the starry skies.

SONG:

He’s prayed a million prayers for us perhaps for a million years.

He’s loved a million loves for us and shall love us   millions more.

Jesus’ love for his family shall never, never dim for all eternity.
