Maker of Heaven, Maker of Earth (Vision Song from 1990)

The backstory for “Maker of Heaven, Maker of Earth”

During the spring of 1989, I had just gone through the first “Friendship Tower” test.  I was emotionally wounded and had cried out to the Lord.  When a month or so more than a year had gone, I became depressed and cried out to the Lord again on the issue. About that time a friend of mine, Mike, had called me and asked me to help him with a one-time youth meeting that he was holding at a nearby town hall in rural Bloomer, Wisconsin.  I was driving my car, weeping, barely able to see.  The road was a back road that was extremely crooked.  That road was known for having several twenty-five miles per hour turns before it exited near the town hall. I had felt as if the Holy Spirit had whispered to me that I needed to surrender my broken heart to Jesus and do the work of the Kingdom until Jesus brought me through the Friendship Tower test. Suddenly I was in a vision.

In the vision, an angel had sung a song to me.  When I came out of the vision, I had entered the parking lot of the town hall. I had driven that crooked road and had not remembered any of it.  The town hall was in sight.  I was a bit early and told my friend Mike about what had just happened.  I asked him for a sheet of paper and wrote the song down.

Less than a year later, a traveling prophetess, named Paula Kilpatrick had prophesied at the Hillsdale Gospel Tabernacle, that I would begin writing songs and singing solos for Jesus.  Sometime after that, I remembered the vision, located the lyrics that I had written down following the vision, and just kept singing the song until I had gotten it down.

Since it was a personal song that pertained to the Friendship Tower, that I was not sharing with others back then, I hadn’t recorded it.  This is the first time, almost twenty-seven years later than that vision, that I have sung a recording of the song.  I have sung it often through the years, but I only rarely shared it with others.

I talk about the Friendship Tower issues in my Friendship Tower Chronicles series, but this is the first time I have made this song public.  Kingdom Lessons Three contains my articles “Flowers from Jesus” and “The Friendship Tower Chronicles” and explain the Friendship Tower Test in detail.  Jesus had promised and brought confirmation in prophecy that he would use this issue to bring me greater unconditional love, obedience, and discipline.  He also had promised that I would have a greater understanding of several scriptural issues by the time that the Friendship Tower testing was finally over.  Jesus kept his promise for the confirmations for each phase of the test. I can see that He has used it to hone my character and provide wisdom. That said, Jesus has had to give me extra grace to endure the emotional wounding that has come with that testing, over the years.  Yet for all of that, the summer of 2017 is almost over, and 1989, long gone. I am still alone in the tower.

However, just as the summer of 2017 began its last hurrah, number eleven, entered the tower.  Jesus had talked to me about her in a dream at the last of April.  Unlike with most of the others, His instructions had been that I would receive the sign, and then the confirmations, but not right away.   At the end of the summer Princesses Nine and Ten were in the process of becoming honorary princesses.  But it wasn’t actually until autumn that I became more than an acquaintance friend with number eleven.  While we don’t spend a great deal of time together, for several weeks now, we have communicated most days on Facebook and she visits some of my home fellowships. I have even talked with her on the phone several times. Such communications with Nine and Ten were rare indeed.  Princess Eleven is a kindred spirit in many ways.
