HOPE FOR THE BROKEN

 

Jesus is constructing

His Kingdom

with the discarded items of the world.

 

Mankind seeks the mighty,

prosperous,

triumphant,

perfect,

and beautiful

when creating their kingdoms.

 

God is the God of the failed,

those who have not grasped

the victory,

but who are willing

to cry out for His mercy.

 

In our weakness

His strength is manifested

before a watching world.

 

Earth’s fragmented lives

are filling

the chambers of Heaven.

 

Jesus was a bruised reed for us,

but He did not break,

so there is no bruised reed

that He cannot restore

to blessed purity and beauty.

 

Jesus is able to take the being

crushed by despair and pain,

and transform it

into a magnificent

hammered dulcimer,

that plays

melodious magnum opus compositions

of inspiration and praise.

 

Jesus is able to elevate

the earth’s gloomiest failure

into an epiphany

that graces Heaven’s portals.
