Information on the Two Theme Parks on Carnival World

Theme Park One

Conner’s Carnival Game

In the novel, Carnival World Book One, there is an open air game theme park that is larger than a football field where players walk around on the game board, which has rides like Ferris Wheels and Roller Coasters and games like Dart Toss and Ring Toss.

Several characters in book one attend a Carnival Game or play in the game as players. 

Of course, the games only comprise a few chapters in each book as the book characters engage in many other adventures.

The Inns and stores sell small game board versions as well.

The same board is used for the Fantasy Role Playing Version but there are many more components and playing tokens.  Some adventures, for example, the Goblin Caves, take place outside of the game or even away from Carnival City.

The top right east corner is Carnival City. United States Special Forces Rangers guard the entrance of the center area which has the Carnival Game playing “board” which is surrounded by a high chain link fence.

The right and left and bottom edges, of the game board photo, have sandy colored trails that lead to areas just outside the theme park and are not always accessible. During the games, wandering monsters may occasionally wander into the central theme park from the primitive wilderness outside of the city.

Wandering monsters can range from spiders to dinosaurs to goblins, to name a few! There is also a guild of pickpockets and muggers, of several races, human and humanoid, who call themselves the Sanguineous Leprechauns.

Theme Park Two

Irish Pub Game Game Board

Note: There are two separate Irish Pub Theme Parks in East Ameruca of Carnival World.

• The Irish Pub Theme Park is for adults without children.
• The Family and Children Irish Pub Theme Park is for adults or children who want a safe, clean and g-rated environment.

The Inns and stores of the Irish Pub Theme Park, in the Carnival World Series, sell small game board versions as well.

Simple Sundays Theme Park

Note that the rules are different for the Simple Sundays Family Game but the same board and game components are used.

• Only soda pop is available in the family pub. 
• Card games are limited to matching games and 500 Rummy.
• Bounty Hunters and Paladins mingle freely, in the Simple Sundays theme park to protect visitors from pick pockets and muggers. 
• Only Christian or g-rated family friendly songs can be sung in the Karaoke Bar of the Simply Sundays pub.
• There are fines or expulsions levied for rough-housing or inappropriate activities or speech. This is true for the games and in the novels.

In the novel, both the adult and family version of the game, are housed in separated enclosed stadiums. 

Carnival World Book one only makes reference to the Irish Pub Theme Park.

Book Two has scenes that take place in both the adult and family theme parks where characters are either visiting or playing the games.  While book one is finished, I just have notes and outlines for book two.

The game board represents a large inn set up like an Irish Pub where players can play bowling games, bottle hurling, darts, poker, boxing and watch horse races or poker games, or sing Karaoke.

Adult Irish Pub Theme Park

• The actual Irish Pub has a greater range of games and the visitors as well as the waitresses and bouncers may sing  bawdy songs.
• There is also less protection provided by Bounty Hunters and Paladins at the adult theme park in the novels. You may have to defend yourself!
• Just like with the Carnival World game park, tiny street urchins, called Sanguineous Leprechauns, sneak around and attempt to pickpocket players.
• Green Beer is available. You can sing any kind of song in the Karaoke chamber.
• Gambling on sporting events like kick-boxing, U.S. baseball, U.S. horse racing and poker is allowed.

 

Irish Pub Game Board

No external areas. Both Pub Game Theme Parks are separate and enclosed.
