CAPTIVATED
CAPTIVATED
Like stardust
Sprinkled across
Sable skies
She dances along my path.
Gossamer wings fluttering
Softly as baby breath florals
With every graceful floating step.
Her lovely teeth
Peek from perfect lips
Brighter than the waning moon.
I hear her tease me
With a voice reminiscent
Of tinkling brooks
And melodious chimes.
Captivated by her charms
I find it easy to get lost
In sweet dreams day or night.
More beautiful
Than the purple heather
Of the grassy fields
I stand amazed.
What earthly boon or celestial award
That such a faerie princess
Would even visit me
For a protracted moment?
I see her beckon.
As I approach,
The flower of her scent
Calls to me like a siren’s song.
But where ancient seafarers’
Need beware,
I do not.
Instead I bask in the blessing
And feel awed that such a gift
Has come my way
To dance along the path of life
And share the adventures
That will surely come.
